Process Analyzers
Model 4000 Photometric Analyzer
The analyzer comprises a field unit, controller and a power supply unit as follows: The field unit is a single assembly of three rugged castings isolated from each other, containing a UV light source, sample cell, and split beam photometer. An optical filter is built into the photometer to provide span checks without using external standards.
Split-beam detector eliminates errors and maintenance needs due to lamp aging, particulate in the sample and dirt on windows.
Solid state detectors with no moving parts, and state-of-the-art microprocessor control reduces maintenance and improves reliability.
Analyzer controller continuously monitors system operation, and alarms for errors such as low light levels, loss of sample, incorrect temperature etc. No routine maintenance is required.
The AMETEK Series 4000 microprocessor based analyzer controller features an 18-key keyboard, plain language 20-character x 4 line vacuum fluorescent display, menu driven software commands, internal real time clock with battery backup, multi-level security and system diagnostic routines, and signal processing capabilities. Analog and digital interfaces are standard, as well as, relay contacts for valve switching and alarm functions. The controller may be located up to 300m (1000 ft) from the field unit. Four optional mounting styles are available; through panel, 19” rack, surface mount, (all NEMA 1 construction)and surface mount in a NEMA 4X FRP enclosure.
The power supply contains transformers and ballasts necessary for the proper operation of the analyzer and controller. It is provided in a NEMA 1 steel box, which may be mounted up to 300m (1000 ft) from the field unit.
